Food jam with Oatly seminar

Come delve into the state of modern food together with Oatly

More info

Come delve into the state of modern food over a lunch together with Oatly. We’ll explore the world of food and beverages in a seminar with four themes: “taste”, “paradigm shift”, “climate change” and “health”.

TASTE The first part will focus on how Oatly works with innovation and product development – a process in which “taste”, for obvious reasons, plays a big part. You will get insights on Oatly’s story and innovation mission and taste our new products.

PARADIGM SHIFT More and more people choose to consume plant-based food and beverages to protect the planet. Food and beverages has become a statement of personal choice and values. In a 2018 lifestyle survey conducted by Ungdomsbarometern, a notable 30% claim that they actively choose to avoid meat for health, ethical and environmental reasons. This global development, primarily driven by conscious young people, has strong support among climate change and public health researchers advocating a shift to a plant based diet.

CLIMATE If you look at sustainability from a global perspective, we’re up against two main challenges: climate change and health issues. This part will focus on climate change and food’s role in it. How do we produce? How do we consume? And what effects does our choice of food and beverages have on the climate?

HEALTH Just like we have to deal with the challenges caused by climate change, we’re also facing a global health challenge (with loads of people suffering from malnutrition). Non-Communicable Deceases (NCDs) like heart problems, diabetes and cancer – are strongly linked to our lifestyles and eating habits. What is healthy food? How can it lower the risk of NCDs? What choices should you make as an individual?

What You'll Learn

  • To eat more wisely
  • What the future of food may look like

More info

Rudi & Christopher of THE HUS.institute from Liechtenstein will bring their brilliant colleagues and welcome you to THE HUS pop-up in Malmö. In a variety of sessions we will explore, talk about and analyze societal and economic transformation by the means of blockchain technology in combination with circular economy principles.

Rudi Hilti, co-founder of THE HUS.institute introduces the Principality of Liechtenstein as a trailblazer in digital transformation with a special focus on the blockchain economy.

The German futurist and serial entrepreneur Christopher Peterka pushes for a radical open dialogue about change and innovation culture within organisations and society as a whole as he believes that the world is moving towards a digital feudalism quickly. Tap into his provocation.

Together with Anne-Katrin Ahrens (artist and designer from Berlin) you can distill your own questions before The Conference and go back to them afterwards. Find out what you have learned and how it adds to your vision.

Also, learn about Holochain, a post-blockchain technology solution, that enables truly agent-centric applications in not only decentralized but also distributed ecosystems. The platform, that is currently built on top of the technology, is called Holo and aims to build a more human internet for distributed applications "where the crowd is the cloud". After raising 30’000 ETH in their ICO, the young initiative Holo is currently building up the frameworks for their revolutionary enterprise of enabling communities worldwide through their very own peer-to-peer app hosting marketplace. There will be input made on especially two of The Conference's sessions, "Broken Promise Land" and "Innovation is for everyone".

THE HUS pop-up is a series of two events, starting on Monday September 3 and continuing on Thursday September 6.

Pizza-talk with Confront : Emotional Design seminar

Listen to speakers from the dev and design community

More info

The team behind the Malmö based dev&design conference Confront invites you to their place! We gather around for some pizza and beer to highlight a topic from our dev and design community.

Pizza-talk is pretty much what the name implies. Pizza and talk - simple as that! We’re big fans of exploring the space that connects design and development. Therefor, we invite a person from the local dev/design scene to share knowledge and stories from their field, while you enjoy some italian slice. Today, UX Specialist Pierre Orsander will talk about Emotional Design.

”Have you ever bought or used a product simply because the way it made you feel, even though you know other products might solve the task better?”

By shaping products with emotional design in mind we can elicit feelings in the user that make them prefer that product, even if it doesn’t solve a task faster or easier than other ones. In other words, Pierre will show us why user experience is not all about usability.

So join us for good vibes, conversations and food with other devs and designers from the Malmö community. We promise to stuff your brain and tummy!

What You'll Learn

  • What emotional design is
  • Principles behind emotional design
  • How you can take advantage of emotional design in your products

In this workshop, Edument – who see it as their duty as technologists to make software creation easy, approachable and fun – will show a large number of new, beginner-friendly programming environments and let people try them out.

What You'll Learn

  • How to program a computer as a non-expert
  • How to have fun with software creation

The solution integrates elements of gamification and game theory to provide an interactive experience where one team tries to defend itself from a believable cyber threat. During the course of the game, a healthy lunch will also be served to the players between the sessions.

The game forces players to make choices about how to attack (if playing the threat actor) and defend (if playing the hypothetical company at breach) with limited information and to balance investment in capability and responding to the other teams’ actions and plans. PwC moderators will facilitate a direct dialogue with clients about their choices during the game, as well as providing on the spot feedback about strategy and decision-making. This approach elevates the impact of Client investments in cybersecurity awareness through real-time feedback on their selected actions, and a discussion about alternate responses and their potential outcomes.

After work cozyness at Media Evolution City

More info

Before we go to Far i Hatten to celebrate the evanescence of things in general (and the end of The Festival more specifically) later on at night, we thought it’d be rude not to have you lot over for a some unconditional after work cozyness at Media Evolution City, aka our very own HQ.

There’ll be all sorts of bevs, something to chew on and a sequence of suave songs playing from behind the DJ decks.

DJ lineup and more info TBA.

The event is supported by the Cross Motion project by the Interreg Baltic Sea region program.

Your product is a story seminar

Learn how to look more deeply at the “story” experience of your product.

More info

Everybody loves microcopy. Now that everyone agrees on content being a key part of any product, what do you actually do about it? Who does it, where is the framework around it, and when does it simply become UX?

Daresay Digital invites you to a interactive seminar that helps you go beyond the buttons and look more deeply at the “story” experience of your product.

Knowing what to write on a button is important, but too often, you get to the button and you realize that for the user to know what to do, you needed to tell them something three pages ago. In this workshop, you will learn how to get started thinking about the content in your products and build it into your process (this is the hardest part!), from concept development to the final “buy” buttons. And you'll get some actionable copy skills you can use, whether you're a professional writer or not.

This workshop is for designers, developers, writers, and anyone who wants to put better words into the world.

What You'll Learn

  • How to maximize your microcopy
  • To heighten your awareness about the importance of really guiding your customer/visitor through your content
  • Handy copywriting tricks
8:00 pm - 2:00 am

More info

Sadly, it’s time to wrap things up. And what better way to do this than with a final fête together with all our friends from near and afar?

We’ll meet up and dance the night away at the charmingly chic Far i Hatten (while we simultaneously swear to each other that we 100% must link up at next year’s The Conference).

What You'll Learn

  • That, as a certain Furtado once taught us, all good things come to an end
  • To let loose with both strangers and like-minded people in one of Malmö’s gemmiest gems
